The year is 2020, and there are a lot of topics to talk about. Well with more than 7 billion humans on this planet, you will never finish reading or watching the neverending news of things that are happening around the world. But there is something that I can talk about with you here and now, that is affecting my family and millions of families around the world. Maybe not on the same degree but never the less in some way, and the cause of the problem is COVID-19( CoronaVirus).
The outbreak of this disease has spread worldwide, first discovered in a Wet market in the city of Wuhan, China. Countries around the world are taking precautions against this virus that as of this moment there is no specific medicine to prevent or treat it. Being Cuba the only to produce (Interferon-alpha 2B) and other 22 medicines, in the fight and treatment of COVID-19, But still working on making a vaccine, like many other countries.
So before I talk about how all this is affecting my family, let me tell you what’s happening in the town we live in and how people are reacting. First like in many places in the USA people are going crazy buying food, basic necessities, and sanitary hygiene products. I wish I had a photo taken by me to show you the situation in the stores where I live. Especially our Walmart, it has completely empty shelf sections, and because I don’t have a photo. I will show an example with one downloaded from the web.

You might ask why dint I go and take a pic myself? well, it’s because it has been reported that there have been cases of CONVID-19 in the areas around our town, and by seeing how fast is spreading, we are trying to minimize the chances by staying at home as much as possible. I do have to go out for important stuff but if it’s a minor thing then nope, ain’t going out, and no; People are not rioting or looting but they are what I like to call “P.P”(passive panicking) ”
My family is taking in all this as calm as possible, the schools are close and our kids are at home, and I think that’s good because kids and the elderly are the most vulnerable to any disease. My wife it’s taking this very seriously, even carrying 2 hand sanitizer with her at all times.
If you ask if we are worried? the answer is YES!, We are!. I just hope that this virus doesn’t mutate and become something like the T-virus from Resident Evil now that would be scary. I don’t want to sound as if I am saying that the CONVID-19 is not scary but come on, if you have any common sense or understanding then you can see that CONVID -19 it’s just like any other disease out there. Don’t forget Ebola, HIV, Cancer, and many many more. The only thing is that this one it’s just a new one and like many others it’s deadly. Don’t let the number of people dying scared.

So please prevent the spreading, follow the instruction on the news and the prevention methods announced by the government. If you are the type that doesn’t believe in the government, then practice some common sense, and if you don’t or have any of the 2 mentioned above. Then my friend all I can say is that “No one can save someone that doesn’t want to be saved “.
We, The Chamizo Family are thankful for all the people working and doing something about this pandemic that we are facing. Especially in the health care medical fields and those keeping public order. Please people; do stay civil and respectful, we are not in an apocalyptic situation yet, and pray that it doesn’t become one.
In the meantime use this time to enjoy your family more at home. It’s not every day a pandemic brake out happens and your country’s government tells you to stay home. well not everyone can, but you know what I mean. so stay positive or have faith if you are a religious person, that everything will get better soon.
